My writing career began as a ten year old
when I wrote a poem that was published in a
major newspaper. As though it appeared
magically before my very own eyes, I was in
awe of reading my name in print, and thought
the entire world was reading along with me.
At a young age, I understood the power of
the written word and knew I could write for
the rest of my life. True to my words, I was
awarded a college scholarship and earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in journalism.
During college, I worked at a small
newspaper which was a journey into the
magical world of print journalism. Since
graduation, I have traveled through several
different industries throughout the country
picking up acronyms and languages from
various markets, ranging from corporate
aviation and medical/healthcare to corporate
retail and the non-profit world. From
newsrooms to boardrooms and even classrooms,
I have traveled to and fro, and have even
met some famous people along the way. From
the corporate side to the agency side and
everything in between, I have written it
all. From advertising copywriting to
presidential speeches, I have been empowered
as a writer at every turn. I have increased
sales for corporations and I have increased
awareness about social issues that demand
our attention. As a certified
English/Language Arts teacher, I taught
young students that powerful writing begins
with passion from the heart and is a process
that requires patience. With almost 20 years
of experience, my writing is powerful
because my words generate powerful results.
Now that I am older and wiser, I know
writing is not magical process. It is
methodical. To write the perfect piece
requires practice, patience, purpose and a
passion that doesn’t start and stop like an
introduction and a conclusion. And with many
years of practice, comes perfection. I work
smart to write the most perfect piece to
present to you, the client, as though it has
magically appeared before your very own
eyes.
I also travel into the fiction world of
children’s literature, creating a little
child-like magic for future writers in the
making.
I am a proud member of the Women in Aviation
International, the Society of Children’s
Book Writers and Illustrators, and a former
member of the American Medical Writers
Association and Public Relations Society of
America.
